Hi there — I’m Raegan, the voice behind Cooking in Cowboy Boots.

I’m a country girl with a cowboy heart and an island boy by my side, and together we’ve been married for over 40 wonderful years. We’ve built a life filled with faith, family, food, and laughter — three amazing kids, six beautiful grandkids, and more blessings than I can count
This little blog started as a place to share my love of home-cooked meals, family stories, and the lessons learned along the way. But, it’s grown into something deeper — a reflection of the joy, humour, and gratitude that carry me through life, even when things get tough.
I live with Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic, progressive disease that’s brought its share of challenges. But it’s also given me perspective. It’s taught me to slow down, savour the small wins, and appreciate the beauty in ordinary moments — a cozy kitchen, a home-cooked meal, a grandchild’s giggle, or a Sunday football game with my Denver Broncos (I’m a loyal fan through every high and heartbreak!)
Around here, I share:
Heartfelt recipes made with love and a touch of cowboy spirit
Honest reflections on living with MS and staying positive through it all
Travel stories from places that feed the soul
Family moments that remind us what really matters
And a little Broncos banter for good measure 🤠
Every post is served with gratitude, laughter, and a reminder that life — even with its ups and downs — is meant to be celebrated

That’s what this space is all about
A mix of country strength, island soul, and unshakable faith — all stirred together with a wooden spoon and a grateful heart.
Whether you came for a recipe, a story, or a little inspiration to keep going when life gets tough, I hope you leave here feeling seen, uplifted, and maybe even a little hungry.
Pull up a chair, kick off your boots, and stay awhile — you’re always welcome at my table
