Where did I get this terrible sense of direction? I have no idea when it all started but it is bad…….I mean really bad! I need one of those dogs that find people in avalanches or
Do you know anyone who gets lost coming out of their hotel room? I do, this girl does! Occasionally I even get lost in my own town so you do not want me to lead the way, EVER. Yet, still people follow me, why do you think that is? I think it is because I am confident and act like I know where I’m going. So, it bamboozles me to think that my family still a) ask me for directions and b) follow them when I give them those directions. I think I am good at giving directions actually, especially if those directions are simple like; turn left on Johnson street, take the first right on Smith, etc. But left on my own, I can’t find my way out of a paper bag, even if there is a brightly lit exit sign trying to lead me to the light!
I can’t even count how many times I have walked out of a hotel room and gone to the left when the elevator never moved from its original position which is to the right or even worse, DIRECTLY in front of me.
We like to hunt……so before our hunt a couple of years ago, we downloaded an app that tracks your route every day. Every day is a different color, you can put markers down such
Fast forward to heading back home from this very hunting trip – we rushed to make the last ferry for the night to take us back to our peaceful little island. We were the last 2 vehicles to make it on the boat and we get out of our trucks and I started to lead the way to the elevator – all of a sudden I hear my brother in law say, “you do know who we are relying on to get us to the elevator don’t you?” But because I exude confidence, they continued to follow me.
Another time, my daughter and I made a road trip to the mainland to go to Ikea. I had my google map going so I got us there in no time. However, once inside the building it’s a whole other story. We finally finish our shopping and are going to head to a restaurant for a bite of lunch before heading back to the ferry, so off we go. Now in my defense, there was construction happening……..but you can guess what happened. We went around the
Good thing I can find my way around the kitchen though! Check out these energy balls I whipped up – I will need to be sure to make a batch or two before our next hunting trip or long shopping trip, especially if I am navigating! We may have to conserve our energy, you know, in case we get lost!
